Toronto, ON — March 6, 2015 — Binns kitchen + bath design was the recipient of four key awards at the National Kitchen & Bath Association (Ontario/Canada Chapter) Design Competition Awards Gala held February 21, 2015.
The family-owned kitchen and bath design firm received high marks from NKBA, taking first place in the Small Kitchen category, first and second place in the Display category, and third place for Medium Kitchens.
To win the award for best Small Kitchen, Shaun Binns made good use of challenging angles in a condominium kitchen to create a fresh, clean look that is highly functional as well as aesthetically appealing. In taking the highest Display award, Beverley Binns used rich, warm colours and a mixture of closed and open storage to better integrate the kitchen with the rest of the space, while Binns designer Martin de Sousa chose a soft, white look and recessed appliances to secure second place in the category. For his Medium Kitchen design strategy that focused on creating openness and reducing clutter in a previously claustrophobic kitchen, Shaun Binns was awarded third place by the Association.
