SieMatic S2. The new class of handleless kitchens

Lohne, September 20,2009. At SieMatic Forum 2009 from September 20th to 23rd SieMatic Mobelwerke presents a kitchen genre with the newly created SieMatic S2. "As the original inventors of the handleless kitchen SieMatic - as a logical continuation of the SieMatic S1 - is now setting a new standard with the SieMatic S2" states Ulrich W. Siekmann, CEO of SieMatic Mbbelwerke. Also newly introduced is a premium interior-system in a clear light glazed oak finish combined with elements of white porcelain.

Kitchen with Personality instead of Hum-Drum Kitchens:

Personality and uniqueness as well as an interplay of counterpoint and deviations from conventional design dictates, characterize the design philosophy of the SieMatic S2. Also, some of the functional elements of the SieMatic S1 are included in the SieMatic S2, such as the multi-media elements, the vertical recessed grip and the drawer system. Mr. Siekmann explains the design concept as "for the SieMatic S2 we have adopted the emotions that have been attributed to the SieMatic S1 ". The linear, cubical design continues the tradition that began in 1960 with the minimalistic, handleless SieMatic 6006. The SieMatic S2 combines that horizontal emphasis with the vertical elements that are the dominant characteristics of the SieMatic S1. New colors and finishes, as well as combinations of premium materials such as lacquer, glass, stone, and wood accessorize the SieMatic S2 kitchens as do the strong tone-in-tone design accents. A good example of the versatility of the SieMatic S2 is the newly developed extendable lower cabinet shelving system.

A successful interplay of materials and design concepts:

The successful composition of different materials and varying dimensions is shown in an exemplary way by the lotus white SieMatic S2 LM on display in the Forum in Lohne: The combination of matt lacquer, shining white glass, light limestone, and wood underscores the elegantly minimalistic design. The new limestone countertop in maljat cream has a warm and comfortable look. The tall cabinet with an integrated TV screen that can be pulled forward and aligned individually and the multi-media system take up typical functional elements of the SieMatic S1. Handleless paneled wall cabinets with their tinted glass fronts and a depth of 25 centimeters offer additional storage room, and give the kitchen a new, completely individual look and a second design level.

How an unobtrusive, tone-in-tone design can set strong color accents in interior design is shown outstandingly by the SieMatic 82 L in truffle grey combined with the new natural stone maljat brown. Characteristic of the tall cabinets: the vertical recessed grips and dust seal in 81 look. At a width of 3.5 centimeters, they provide an optimal grip for opening the doors. An attractive contrast to the one centimeter look.

Interior furnishing system with an unusual mix of materials:

The new interior furnishing system of light oak is also based on the SieMatic 81. Thanks to material mix of aluminum and porcelain, coupled with the linear design vocabulary, the elements radiate elegance, modernity, and value. With the first-time ever use of high quality hard-glazed porcelain, SieMatic utilizes a proven material, and gives it a modern and linear interpretation. The result: beautiful, practical elements in many variations. A particular eye for detail is shown here, for example, in the stackable storage containers and wooden boxes for optimal utilization of storage space. These utilitarian yet decorative kitchen helpers are supplemented by porcelain lids that can be labeled individually and by glass inserts for the spice jar lids.

The new SieMatic S2 will be available in North America in early 2010. For more information on SieMatic, visit www.siematic.com
